Blur drummer Dave Rowntree has announced a book of photography of his band titled No One You Know: Dave Rowntree’s Early Blur Photos. The book is set to be released September 9 via Hero. See photos from the book below.
About the book, Rowntree says in a press release: “The pictures I took are of a band right at the start of their career. They’re of what we did between the gigs, interviews and photo sessions. They are of us hanging out, relaxing, travelling, eating, and especially in the early days, drinking. They are snapshots of what life in Blur was really like in the first few years when the TV cameras and tape recorders were turned off. Obviously there isn’t much of the band actually working, because then I would have been working too. This is everything else.”
September 10, the day after the book’s release, Rowntree will be holding a book signing at Rough Trade Denmark St. in London.
Blur is Dave Rowntree, Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, and Alex James. The Britpop legends released a new album, The Ballad of Darren, in 2023. The same year Rowntree released his debut solo album, Radio Songs.
