Car Seat Headrest Announces New Album, Shares Video for “Nervous Young Inhumans”
Twin Fantasy Due Out February 16 via Matador, Is a Re-Imagined Version of a 2011 Album
Jan 09, 2018 Car Seat Headrest
Car Seat Headrest (aka Will Toledo and band) has announced a new album, Twin Fantasy, and shared a video for “Nervous Young Inhumans.” Diehard Car Seat Headrest fans will point out that Toledo already self-released an album titled Twin Fantasy to Bandcamp in 2011. This is a re-imagined version of that album. It’s due out February 16 via Matador. Toledo self-directed the “Nervous Young Inhumans” video (his directorial debut). Watch it below. Also below is the album’s tracklist and Car Seat Headrest’s upcoming tour dates.
Car Seat Headreadrest previously shared a 13-minute new version of “Beach Life-In-Death,” also taken from the 2018 version of Twin Fantasy. “It was never a finished work, and it wasn’t until last year that I figured out how to finish it,” says Toledo of the new album in a press release, which also points out that he didn’t have the resources to match his original 2011 ambitions for the album, but does now.
The 2018 version of the album will be released on double LP and digitally on February 16. The same day there will be a double CD release that includes both the 2018 version of Twin Fantasy and a re-mastered 2011 version. Then on Record Store Day (April 21) there will be an exclusive double LP of the re-mastered 2011 version (which will also be released digitally at a 2018 date TBD).
Back in August, Car Seat Headrest shared a new track, “War Is Coming (If You Want It) [March Mix],” via Bandcamp, with all proceeds going to the Transgender Law Center. And then they shared a different, official version of the song.
Car Seat Headrest released his latest album, Teens of Denial, in 2016 via Matador.
