A few years back Caribou, a.k.a. Dan Snaith, ventured on a live tour backed by a band he dubbed the Caribou Vibration Ensemble. Releasing a live album in 2010 that captured the group’s time on the road, Snaith decided to surprise fans this morning with yet another look back by sharing another live release titled CVE Live 2011. Available on Bandcamp, the compilation features live recordings from 2011 shows in London and Ghent, Belgium, with Snaith’s band at the time consisting of Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden, Sinkane’s Ahmed Gallab, James Holden, Enon/Braniac’s John Schmersal, and others.
A limited LP version of CVE Live 2011 will be available in select stores starting today, with proceeds from its sale benefitting Gendered Intelligence.
Snaith also posted a video from the 2011 tour, featuring a performance from ATP featuring Sun Ra Arkestra’s Marshall Allen. Scroll down below to listen to the album and watch the video clip.
