Caribou’s Dan Snaith Announces EDM Album As Daphni
JIAOLONG Out This October
Jul 24, 2012 Caribou
Musical artist Dan Snaith, a.k.a. Caribou, has announced that he will release what will be his first proper electronic dance music album under the moniker Daphni.
The new effort, titled JIAOLONG (sharing the name of Snaith’s label and pronounced “jow-long”) will be out Oct 16. in the U.S. and Canada, arriving in Europe and Australia a week prior on Oct. 8, and in Japan on Oct. 3.
In a press release, Snaith says ““I’ve been surprised by the number of transcendent moments I, sober and in my mid-30s, have had in clubs in the last few years. There’s some magic in it still. The clichés about the collective consciousness of clubs still seems to hold water in some special cases. There is a small world where dance music lives up to its potential to liberate, surprise, and innovate. It’s there that I hope Daphni has a place.”
Below the album’s nine song tracklist, you can watch a trippy visual accompaniment to the included cut “Ye Ye.”
