Chicago-based artist Circuit des Yeux has shared “Truth,” the third and final single from her new album, Halo On the Inside, releasing this Friday via Matador. Below, check out the music video for “Truth,” as well as the first two singles, “Megaloner” and “Canopy of Eden.”
Circuit des Yeux is Haley Fohr. This is Fohr’s fifth full-length LP and her first since 2021’s -io.
“I found a very surprising, small voice in me, and it was deep, deep behind my heart,” Fohr says of the new album in a press release. “Through the process of making this music I was able to rewind myself to a time before fear, and in the absence of fear I found the intimate beat of sex, love, and melody.”
The album’s final pre-release single, “Truth,” is akin to the first two singles; a dark, driving trudge through cyber-slums. However, its brighter notes and faster, revolving tempo signal that the album may not be as two dimensional as the first singles suggest it might be.
About the new single, Fohr says: “If ‘Truth’ were an object it would be a multi-faced geode that is in constant rotation. Its meaning is continually shifting and lending itself to the way the listener perceives it.” These ideas reflect the track’s music video, as Fohr inspects an old TV displaying ever-shifting images of herself.
Circuits des Yeux embarks on a U.S./E.U. tour in late March, first backing Alan Sparhawk and then beginning a month-long headline tour in mid-April.
