The set times for Coachella have finally been posted to the festival website, www.coachella.com/event/set-times. With a nerve-shattering 3 days to go, festival goers can finally agonize over conflicts, geography and meal times.

Naturally, conflicts are unavoidable in these sorts of situations and only serve to add to the experience, but we here at Under the Radar identified several clashes of note.

It might be a no-brainer to catch Paul McCartney over virtually every other act at on Friday. However, A Place to Bury Strangers and Patton & Rahzel will take to the Gobi and Mojave tents within fifteen minutes of Sir McCartney’s set. Morrissey and Beirut will share almost the exact same set times while simultaneously being almost at opposite ends of the field around 8:30 pm. Earlier in the afternoon, Los Campesinos! and The Hold Steady will overlap with ten minutes on either side. At least they’ll be in adjacent tents.

Saturday seems a bit easier for us. Band of Horses at the Outdoor Theater versus M.I.A. on the Coachella stage. TV on the Radio, Calexico, and Glasvegas will have a thin spread across the festival approaching sundown. Ostensibly, one could catch short increments of each. Notice the huge gap at the Outdoor Theater and Gobi tents-this is no doubt due to the obvious potential of sound bleed from the notoriously loud My Bloody Valentine whose set begins at 7:50 pm on the Coachella Stage.

Sunday presents a four-fold challenge for the 9 pm time slots. Public Enemy, The Orb, and The Kills will begin their sets right around 9 pm, and The Cure will close out the Coachella Stage beginning at 9:25 pm. Devendra Banhart and Paul Weller will overlap exactly at the Gobi Tent and Outdoor Theater, respectively. And in the blazing hot early afternoon, Okkervil River and Friendly Fires will perform within fifteen minutes on different stages.

Best wishes to all those making final preparations. Be safe and take comfort in the fact that you will undoubtedly be inundated with music, even if it’s not exactly what you were hoping to get.
