David Cross to Release New CD/DVD

Bigger and Blackerer Due May 25 Via Sub Pop

David Cross made a name for himself on Arrested Development, Mr. Show, and various indie-comedy films. Basically, he’s a very, very funny dude. Cross is now set to issue his third comedy LP (and second DVD) for Sub Pop.

Bigger and Blackerer was recorded at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre and is out May 25. There’s a bit of overlap between the CD and DVD, but each one contains exclusive content too. On April 10, the filmed parts will air as a special on the cable network Epix.

Jokes about guilt-trips at Whole Foods, the reality TV show Intervention, Cross’ drug-abusing past, “silly religious crazies,” race, Coors Light® drinkers, and “date safety tips” fly fast and loose. You can also listen to “gastro-intestinal misadventures with his dog Ollie Red Sox, or sing along with ‘The Sultan’s Revenge,’ the swinging, Vegas-style opening number composed by Cross and his good friend Mark Rivers (author of the theme to Mr. Show.)’ Sounds like a genuine gut-buster.

David Cross’ Tip of the Day: “Never respond to anybody on the street who refers to you as ‘big guy.’”

The tracklist can be found below.
