British trio Doves have a fairly flawless discography. Certainly many fans would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite among their first three albums (2000’s Lost Souls, 2002’s The Last Broadcast, and 2005’s Some Cities) and even 2009’s Kingdom of Rust is a bit underrated. The band never officially broke up after that album, but in 2010 they did announce they were taking an extended break. Since then there have been solo albums and side projects, but not much in the way of Doves news. Well, today they have posted a cryptic image to their social media channels. It shows a photo of some music gear cases with the band’s logo on them and the cases are coming out of a storage container. December 3, 2018 (next Monday) is written on the image. Does that mean that Doves are at the very least announcing some new tour dates next week? Perhaps a new album for 2019? We will find out on Monday.

Doves were interviewed in our very first print issue, back in 2001, and we have interviewed them for each of their four albums, so the band has a special place in our hearts. Frontman Jimi Goodwin released a solo album, Odludek, in 2014. That same year, Doves’ other two members, brothers Jez and Andy Williams, formed the new band Black Rivers (they released their debut album in 2015). Below are two Facebook posts from the band, as well as three of their previous music videos.
