Elbow released a new album (their seventh), Little Fictions, back in February via Concord and they just released a new best of compilation, fittingly titled The Best Of. They previously shared its bonus track, a cover of The Beatles’ “Golden Slumbers” (from Abbey Road). Now the track has a video. Watch it below.
The cover was also featured in a new holiday commercial for the British department store chain John Lewis. Quirky French director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep) directed the ad, which features a friendly monster named Moz who lives under a young boy’s bed. It was all a bit strange for a Christmas ad. The “Golden Slumbers” video incorporates both footage from the John Lewis ad and behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the ad (which is also below).

Elbow’s last album was 2014’s The Take Off and Landing of Everything, although in 2015 frontman Guy Garvey released his debut solo album, Courting the Squall.
