Fleet Foxes have shared a video for “If You Need To, Keep Time on Me,” from last year’s gracefully woven Crack-Up. The gorgeous Rorschach symmetry of the fluidly moving art moves perfectly with the lovely ballad. Vidanoise directed the vertical video, with animation by David Hession and Rosie Holtom. Hession had this to say about the video in a press release: “The vertical video format provided an opportunity to make a compositionally different visual for ‘If You Need To, Keep Time on Me.’ Taking advantage of the aspect ratio. This lent itself to the constantly evolving, impossible landscape, with each scene an expression of time passing and how time is measured through nature, as majestically delicate as the song itself.”

Crack-Up was one of our Top 100 Albums of 2017. On Record Store Day (April 21) Fleet Foxes are putting out a 7-inch that features on the A-side “Crack-Up” performed live with the Icelandic women’s choir Graduale Nobli at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik. On the B-side is an intimate version of “In the Morning,” recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 2017.
