Foo Fighters have announced a new album, Your Favorite Toy, and shared its title track. Your Favorite Toy is due out April 24 via Roswell/RCA. Below, listen to “Your Favorite Toy,” followed by the album’s tracklist and cover artwork.
Your Favorite Toy is the band’s 12th album and follows 2023’s But Here We Are, which was their first album without drummer Taylor Hawkins, who tragically passed away the year prior. Foo Fighters co-produced the album with Oliver Roman, recording it at home. Oliver Roman engineered it and Mark “Spike” Stent mixed it.
Foo Fighters are Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee, and Ilan Rubin.
Grohl had this to say about the new single in a press release: “‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”
Album closer “Asking For a Friend” was released as a single last year.
