Four Tet to Issue Exclusive Mix CD
From His Residency at London's Plastic People
According to a post on his site, Four Tet (née Kieran Hebden) says his recent DJ residency at London club Plastic People had an influence on the sounds we’ll eventually hear on his fortthcoming LP, There Is Love in You. “A lot of the music on the new Four Tet album was tested out at these Plastic People nights and this club is a big inspiration to me,” notes Hebden.
The DJ/producer/percussionist’s last gig at the club is on December 11th, and to celebrate the occasion Hebden put together a free, limited-run mix CD based on his Plastic People sets. He says the mix “will not be for sale anywhere and is just for this one night.” It will most likely be available online the following day.
There Is Love in You is out on January 26th via Domino. You can give first single, “Love Cry” a listen now though. Also, a world tour is in the works.
