Future Islands released a new album, The Far Field, earlier this month via 4AD. Previously the band shared its first single “Ran” (which they also shared a video for and performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) and a lyric video for “Cave” that featured the album’s lyrics in sign language. Now the band has announced some more North American tour dates for this fall. They go down this September and October and include shows in Richmond, Dallas, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Missoula, Jackson, Denver, Omaha, Minneapolis, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, and elsewhere. Check out their full touring schedule below, followed by the videos for “Ran” and “Cave.”

The Far Field is the follow-up to the Baltimore-based trio’s acclaimed 2014-released breakthrough album Singles. Samuel T. Herring (vocals, lyrics), William Cashion (bass, guitars), and Gerrit Welmers (keyboards, programming) wrote the album in North Carolina and Baltimore. John Congleton produced the album at the Sunset Sound studios in Los Angeles. Blondie’s Debbie Harry guests on the album, singing a duet with Herring, “Shadows.” Patrick McMinn contributed string arrangements and this is the first Future Islands record to feature live drums by Michael Lowry. The album has been released “digitally, on 180gm white and standard black LP, CD, cassette formats, and as a unique, first-of-its-kind miniature LP.”
