North London pop band GIFTHORSE return with “Love Is a Landslide,” a bold, sonically expansive single and the latest addition to their self-styled “Frazzled English pop” catalogue. The track reflects on past teenage heartbreak and, through the clarity of adulthood, turns it into an empowering, triumphant pop anthem.
Fronted by songwriting duo Naomi Mann (vocals) and Charlie Butler (guitar, backing vocals), the band also features twins Zak and Iggy Waller on drums and bass, and Hilton Home on synth.
GIFTHORSE have built a strong live reputation, selling out shows at London’s George Tavern and performing at Glasgow’s Tenement Trail Festival. Upcoming dates include supporting indie band FEET in Liverpool, Glasgow, and Hebden Bridge, a summer festival debut at Kendal Calling, and joining legendary singer Clare Grogan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Altered Images’ Happy Birthday, a record Mann and Butler bonded over when they first met.
The single precedes their debut EP, Queens of Highgate, due in April.
