Welsh indie newcomers Half Happy have unveiled their latest single, Bloom, released today (September 10th). The track offers a captivating glimpse into their debut EP Conversation Killer, which is set to arrive on September 20th.
Rising rapidly through Cardiff’s vibrant music scene, Half Happy’s blend of dream-pop, indie-rock, and post-punk has already earned them the Welsh Music Prize 2023 (Triskell Award). In support of their debut EP, the band will embark on their first UK headline tour this December, having already played alongside Mercury Prize winners English Teacher, as well as Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, and Pale Blue Eyes.
Frontwoman Rosalie Miller explains the inspiration behind Bloom: “The song is about being stuck in the middle of your friends’ relationships, not knowing how to help or what to say. The buildup feels like being trapped in an awkward conversation, but the chorus brings a sense of relief, like jumping into the sea.”
Half Happy’s Bloom is now available on all digital platforms.
