HotWax have revealed details of their debut album Hot Shock, set for release on March 7th via Marathon Artists. The announcement is accompanied by the lead single “She’s Got A Problem,” a driving grunge-rock anthem that has become a live favorite during their packed summer tour. To celebrate the album launch, the band will also play a series of in-store shows in March—fans can secure tickets by pre-ordering the album. Full tour dates, including shows with The Libertines at Camden Roundhouse, are listed below.

Hot Shock follows the Hastings trio’s two critically acclaimed 2023 EPs, which propelled them to bigger stages and saw them perform over 150 live shows in the past 18 months. These included major festivals like Reading + Leeds, Mad Cool, and All Points East, alongside support slots for Royal Blood, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and Deap Vally. Their explosive live performances caught the attention of producer Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Wolf Alice), who saw the band at Third Man Records’ Blue Basement. Marks was captivated by their energy, telling lead singer Tallulah Sim-Savage, “I want to capture the party-like energy of this gig on your album.”

HotWax went on to assemble an all-female production team, with Marks co-producing alongside Steph Marziano (Picture Parlour, Cassandra Jenkins), recording Hot Shock live at London’s RAK Studios. During their US tour, they also collaborated with Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa in Joshua Tree, further infusing the record with the dynamic energy of their live shows.

While Hot Shock is made to be blasted on stage, it also explores the more vulnerable side of life on the road. “Touring and constantly living in the moment can be chaotic, but with experience, we’ve become more fearless,” explains bassist Lola Sam. Childhood friends Sim-Savage and Sam have been writing together since they were 12, before connecting with drummer Alfie Sayers at music college.

Despite their young age, HotWax’s high-octane performances have already caught the attention of music icons like Beck, Karen O, Courtney Love, and Wolf Alice.
