May 22, 2025
The Reykjavík music festival Iceland Airwaves has announced their second wave of artists, with an additional 29 acts added to the lineup. See the complete list of artists below.
Iceland Airwaves has been a leading festival in discovering new acts since its first rendition in a local airport hangar in 1999. This year, the festival returns with another eclectic group of artists.
Notable artists included in the second wave include TV on the Radio’s frontman Tunde Adebimpe, performing music from his new solo album Black Boltz, Saya Gray coming off of last year’s debut full-length SAYA, nabeel, an Iraqi-American shoegaze artist beginning to take off, and more.
Commenting on the lineup for the upcoming edition of Iceland Airwaves, Ísleifur Þórhallsson, Festival Manager for Iceland Airwaves said: “Every year, our mission is to bring together the most exciting new talent from Iceland and around the world—and this year’s lineup is shaping up to be one of our strongest yet. From the much-anticipated return of Retro Stefson, to the riotous energy of Joey Valance & Brae, and the iconic voice of Tunde Adebimpe, we’re proud to showcase the kind of creative spirit that makes Reykjavík and Iceland Airwaves so unique. This mix of raw newcomers, beloved local legends, and bold global voices is exactly what Airwaves is all about.”
