1970s French electronic music legend Jean-Michel Jarre has long been teasing his new album, previously announcing that it featured such collaborators as Massive Attack, Gesaffelstein, and Tangerine Dream, and releasing the video for “Glory,” his song with fellow Frenchman M83. Today he has formally announced the whole album and the full list of collaborators. Electronica 1: The Time Machine is due out October 16 via Ultra. Below is a trailer for the album and the full tracklist. Tomorrow the video for the Little Boots collaboration “If…!” will premiere on Vevo.
As well as M83, 3D from Massive Attack, Gesaffelstein, Little Boots, and Tangerine Dream, the album also features collaborations with Air, Fuck Buttons, Laurie Anderson, Moby, Boys Noize, Armin van Buuren, The Who’s Pete Townshend, John Lang, Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Erasure), and John Carpenter. Furthermore, volume two is due out next spring and with both volumes combined there are 30 collaborators in total. Check out the trailer and tracklist below, followed again by the video for “Glory.”
