King Khan & the Shrines Announce New Album, “Idle No More”
Arriving Sept. 3 via Merge
May 29, 2013
King Khan & the Shrines
Psychedelic soul band King Khan & the Shrines have announced that they will release Idle No More, the group’s first record in six years. The follow-up to their 2007 LP What Is!?, the new album takes its name from an indigenous-rights movement taking place in the band’s native Canada seeking sovereignty and environmental protections from the government. Down below you can watch the music video for the record’s first single “Bite My Tongue,” which features the group’s signature gonzo theatrics in full effect. Idle No More comes out Sept. 3 on Merge.
