LCD Soundsystem Share “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang” (Heaven 17 Cover)
Recorded at New York’s Electric Lady Studios
Nov 02, 2018 Heaven 17
LCD Soundsystem released their long-awaited new album, American Dream, in September 2017 via Columbia/DFA. (It was one of our Top 100 Album of 2017.) Now they have shared a cover of Heaven 17’s ”(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang.” It was recorded at New York’s Electric Lady Studios and perhaps its release is timed to next week’s midterm elections (don’t forget to vote next Tuesday!). Heaven 17’s original was released as single in 1981 (and was banned by the BBC) and was also featured on their 1981 album Penthouse and Pavement. Below listen to both the LCD Soundsystem cover and the original Heaven 17 version.

As always, you guys, Wendy & Mark, cover the best and do it thoroughly. Almost no other outlet included the original in their post. This is such a fun remake. keep it up, Christopher Roberts & @undertheradar!
