Actress Lily Collins currently is on a promotional tour for her new movie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which opens Wednesday, August 21. At a press junket today, the Mirror Mirror star (and daughter of Phil Collins) spoke briefly to Under the Radar about her involvement in the video for M83’s “Claudia Lewis,” a track from his critically acclaimed 2011 double LP, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. The video premiered earlier this week and is directed by actress Bryce Dallas Howard.

“I met Bryce Dallas Howard at an event like three years ago,” Collins recounts. “I didn’t think that she’d remember me. And all of a sudden I got this call saying that she really wanted me to do this video. And I was a huge M83 fan and love Bryce. I think she’s the most kind, beautiful human being. I had a meeting with her, and it sounded like fun. Who doesn’t want to do a music video? Especially a Supervideo, where it’s basically like a [silent] film—there are no words—and to play an alien and have blue hair, for a band that you love, for a two-day shoot with a director who’s amazing: why would I ever say no to that? I’m very honored to have had the chance.”
