Listen: Gold Connections – “Isabel”
From Self-Titled Debut EP Out March 31 via Fat Possum

Gold Connections
The momentum for Charlottesville, VA’s Gold Connections has been building like his song structures. Led by songwriter, guitarist and lyricist Will Marsh and produced by fellow Virginian turned global rocker Will Toledo of Car Seat Headrest, the band has systematically rolled out its introduction through releases of songs from the self-titled debut EP out March 31st on Fat Possum.
“Isabel” is the third single, following the recently released “Faith in Anyone” and “New Religion”. It’s further evidence that the songwriting of Marsh combined with the production of Toledo - who also plays drums, electric guitar, bass, and backing vocals throughout the EP - yields something substantial. Marsh calls out from the contained rage of guitar feedback and distortion. The press release characterizes it as “(building) from interlocking guitar patterns into an acid-drenched sonic storm rich in the tradition of the very best road-ready indie rock.”
Marsh says: “‘Isabel’ is not a song about a girl, but a blurred portrait of the circus we call love. It took two years to write because I kept on finding new bizarre angles…If Isabel is a girl then she’s parading somewhere out of view.” Take a listen:
Gold Connections also announced an expansion of its US tour. After appearances at SXSW, The band will embark on a short east coast run with Philadelphia’s Suburban Living before joining Car Seat Headrest for a trio of summer dates in Virginia, Ohio and Vermont. A full itinerary is listed below.
