Julianna Barwick is releasing a new album, Will, on May 6 via Dead Oceans. Now she has shared another song from it, “Same.” It features vocals from Mas Ysa and you can listen below.

Barwick commented on the song in a press release: “Mas Ysa’s Seraph was by far my favorite record of last year. So, imagine my delight when Tom agreed to lend some vocals to a couple songs on my new record Will. I was wrapping up the record in beautiful Lisbon when he sent them along, and they made this track ‘Same’ complete. Now, we’ll be playing several shows together this year and I can’t wait!”

Previously Barwick had shared a video for Will track “Nebula.” Barwick recorded the album all over the place: a house in upstate New York, the Moog Factory in Asheville, North Carolina, and Lisbon, Portugal. Will includes contributions from Thomas Arsenault (Mas Ysa), Dutch cellist Maarten Vos, and percussionist Jamie Ingalls (Chairlift, Tanlines, Beverly). “While making this record, there were moments of isolation and dark currents,” Barwick says in a press release. “I like exploring that, and I love when I come across songs that sound scary or ominous. I’ve always been curious about what goes into making a song that way.”
