Solo artist Kindness has just released his slowed-down, somber cover of Solange’s pop-dance hit, “Some Things Never Seem to Fucking Work.” By peeling away the infectious beat and shimmering production of the original, Kindness successfully channels the raw frustration that the lyrics convey.

Continuing to ride the wave of critical regard for his most recent album, last year’s Otherness, Kindness has also announced the addition of a March 20 show date at the Voyeur Nightclub in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Here are the rest of Kindness’ upcoming tour dates:
