Louisville, Kentucky’s White Reaper have perhaps taken a page from the President’s boastful playbook and named their new album The World’s Best American Band. It’s due out April 7 via Polyvinyl and of course we’re sure the title is actually meant to be iconic. Still, the band has just shared the album’s title track and it is a pretty great slice of all American power-pop, with a scoop of ice cream on the top. It starts with sound of audience cheers and ends with a school bell ringing. Check it out below, followed by the album’s first single, “Judy French,” which we neglected to post because we missed the memo that apparently America’s best band was back.
Kevin Ratterman produced The World’s Best American Band. White Reaper guitarist/vocalist Tony Esposito explained the boastful album title in a press release: “Because we are the best. Just like Muhammad Ali was the greatest, you gotta say it out loud for people to believe it.”
