Longer “The X-Files” Miniseries Trailer Shows Off More Mulder and Scully, + Skinner and Smoking Man

The X-Files is returning to TV on January 24, 2016 with a six-episode event series on FOX starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. We’ve been previously treated to some short teaser trailers for the show, but last night FOX debuted a longer trailer that showed off much more footage from the revival. They split the trailer into two parts, with part one airing during Gotham and part two during Minority Report.
Of course both parts have surfaced online, even though FOX has yet to officially post them. The part one video is admittedly of poor sound quality, clearly just recorded by pointing a camera at the TV, but the part two video that’s circulating is of good quality. You can watch both below and we’ll post the full high quality trailer if and when FOX releases it. Update: Now FOX has posted the full HD trailer and that’s below instead.
The trailer shows off Mulder and Scully of course, but also Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as the mysterious The Smoking Man. The tagline is “The Truth Is Still Out There.” As an X-Files fan this certainly looks promising. Let’s just hope it’s better than the series finale or the last movie and that it doesn’t ask way too many more questions than it actually answers, which was a problem with the original series.
