Mac DeMarco Wants Fans to Come By His House for Coffee
Just Listen to the Last Track on Another One
Jul 23, 2015 Mac DeMarco
“My House By the Water,” the last track on Mac DeMarco‘s new eight-song mini-album, Another One, ends with DeMarco giving out his address in Far Rockaway, New York and inviting listeners to come to his house for coffee. According to an interview DeMarco has done with The Wall Street Journal, this is not a joke. It’s his actual address and he’s really open to having fans just stop on by.
“The way I rationalize it, to have the address you’ll have to listen to the album to the very end,” DeMarco said to The Wall Street Journal. “Second, to even consider coming to my house you have to be a kind of a superfan. And thirdly, it’s in such a weird part of New York that if they actually get there, they deserve a cup of coffee.” Far Rockaway is at the end of the subway line.
The song hasn’t officially been released yet and the album isn’t due out until August 7 via Captured Tracks. But Another One leaked a couple of weeks ago and since then the Journal says that about 30 fans have already stopped by. Will you make the trek?
