Mantra of the Cosmos Share New Single “Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)” with Noel Gallagher

The Supergroup is Made Up of Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Bez, Ride’s Andy Bell, and Zak Starkey (Formerly of The Who and Oasis)

Mantra of the Cosmos—a British Supergroup featuring members of Happy Mondays, The Who, Oasis, and Ride—have shared their third single “Domino Bones (Getting Dangerous)” via a music video. The group is also joined by Oasis’ Noel Gallagher for the track. The band features Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays, Black Grape), Bez (Happy Monday, Black Grape), Zak Starkey (The Who, Oasis), and Andy Bell (Ride, Oasis). Check out the new video below.

The original idea for the band stems from Starkey (the son of The Beatles’ Ringo Starr, and also the third drummer in Oasis and was the drummer in The Who since 1996 until recently), but came to life with Ryder on vocals, Bell on guitar, and Bez and Starkey on percussion. The group released their first single “Gorilla Guerilla” in 2023 and their second, “X (Wot You Sayin),” as well as extended mixes of both tracks, later that year.

The title “Domino Bones (Getting Dangerous)” comes from the name of Bez’s first band. The single was originally released as a limited vinyl 7-inch and the band celebrated its exclusive release with two shows at the Cavern Club in Liverpool.

Zak Starkey called it “‘Free Bird’ for mods” in a press release. “I can’t wait to get this song out there and on the airwaves,” says Starkey. “The Cavern gigs were amazing, as was the reaction to the vinyl release. Working with people like Noel, Shaun, Andy and Bez is always a pleasure—these are the greatest musicians of their generation. We have more singles coming this year with some VERY special guests— this is the year of the Mantra!”

Noel Gallagher also spoke on the track with The Times.“It’s Dylan, Dali, Ginsberg and a bit of cosmic jibber-jabber. Add in Bez, who dances on the tunes like Zak plays the drums and Andy Bell plays all things stringed, and you have it.”
