Sad news, European Modest Mouse fans: the band has axed their forthcoming summer tour to work on new material. (We’ll let you ponder if that’s a real consolation in the quiet of your own heart.)

Via press release the band said:

“After much thought, we have decided to cancel our EU/UK tour to continue work on our forthcoming album. We do appreciate our fans and promise that we will make it up to you next year.”
