Icelandic pop collective múm (pronounced [muːm], “moom”) are coming to a town near you, in support of their fifth studio release, Sing Along to Songs You Don’t Know (out now on FatCat). A typical múm trek means gossamer thin vox, eye-popping visuals, eccentric beats, and strange instruments you can’t quite pronounce. The group’s lineup has expanded and contracted since its duo days, but you should solid touring/recording core consists of founding members Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason.

For these dates the lineup will engorge to include Eiríkur Orri Ólafsson (trumpet/piano/keyboards), Hildur Guðnadóttir (cello/vocals), Sigurlaug Gísladóttir (Vocals / ukulele/ various), Róbert Reynisson (guitars/ukulele’s), and Finlander, Samuli Kosminen (drums/percussion). Others may lend a helping hand along the way though. Sin Fang Bous will open during the trek. He’s a promising Icelandic avant-pop artist and friend/collaborator of múm.
