Netflix Announces “Punisher” Series, Spinoff of “Daredevil”
Jon Bernthal to Reprise the Role

Daredevil
Netflix has officially announced that The Punisher (aka Frank Castle) will get his own series. The Marvel Comics’ character appeared in season 2 of Daredevil and was played by Jon Bernthal (previously best known for playing Shane Walsh in the first two seasons of The Walking Dead). It’s little surprise that The Punisher is getting his own show and hopefully it’ll find more success with critics and audiences than the poorly received three feature films starring the vigilante. (And on a side note, it’s crazy that there have been three Punisher films whereas there are some bigger Marvel and DC comic book heroes who currently have zero films to their name.)
The Punisher will join other Marvel Netflix shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the forthcoming Luke Cage (September 20) and Iron Fist. Then all the characters will unite for The Defenders crossover miniseries.
The Punisher is back. Locked and loaded.https://t.co/nGKCa2taEV
