New York Playground Renamed After Beastie Boy Adam Yauch
Palmetto Playground to Become “Adam Yauch Playground”
May 02, 2013
Beastie Boys
A year ago, Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch passed away. Today, the New York Post reports that Brooklyn’s Palmetto Playground is set to be renamed “Adam Yauch Playground.” The touching tribute will be made official in a renaming ceremony this Friday. Remaining Beastie Boys Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond are expected to be present.
Says Brooklyn councilman of the name change, “Adam Yauch Playground would be a much more fitting name since he actually hung out there, and it would be a great testament to a great leader and musician.”
And, for no other reason than the fact we’ll always miss MCA, check out a classic Beastie Boys video below.
