NPR Streams Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi’s “Rome”
May 09, 2011
Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi
Rome will without a doubt go down as one of the more unorthodox musical projects of 2011. The brainchild of Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton and Italian composer Daniele Luppi, and featuring vocal contributions by Norah Jones and The White Stripes’ Jack White, the resulting album is a love letter to the film scores of ‘60s and ‘70s spaghetti westerns. Recorded in sporadic sessions over the past five years in Italy’s Forum Studios, a studio legendary composer Ennio Morricone helped establish, and featuring orchestral musicians that worked with Morricone himself, Rome will see official release on May 16. In the meantime NPR has gotten its quick draw hands on a stream of the full album on its website. Click here to listen and watch a trailer for the project down below.
