Pantha du Prince Announces Ambient Reworkings of The Triad
To Be Released With Remix EP

Last year, German producer Hendrik Weber, known by his electronic super hero alias as Pantha du Prince, returned to the scene with the highly textural and far reaching The Triad, a collaboration with NYC’s Scott Mou and Norway’s Bendik Kjeldsberg of Bell Laboratory.
Today, Weber announced a limited edition, “totally reworked ambient re-envisioning” of the album. The hypnotic and escapist ambient version of “Islands In The Sky” was shared as well, along with the announcement on the Rough Trade site. Take it on a spin here:
Along with the ambient reinterpretation, there will be a digital EP of remixes of the album’s songs from a selection of other electronic auteurs including “deep-house royalty Solomun, Berlin acid house adventurer Recondite, eclectic minimalist Efdemin, Amsterdam-via-Nigeria house innovator Shinedoe, experimental polymath Alva Noto, and more.” This is quite the roster to go in on a signature Pantha album and the whole bundle seems too good to be true.
Weber describes the concept behind ‘The Triad - Ambient Versions’:
“The Triad Ambient Versions bring the listener into a free space, as music consists of strictly folded sonic spaces that can be structured for the dance, for body-movement: the heart beat synchronizes the movement. The ambient versions have no beats and the listener gets a more transparent musical picture, an image full of light-atmosphere non-defined and free, for the human spirit to unfold its own way of receiving space folded into time. The straight columns of rhythm were taken away for a light wind of silence and non-structured fluid movements.”
To support both versions of The Triad, Pantha du Prince will make his long-awaited return to this US this May. His last US shows took place in 2014.
