Premiere: Adam Taylor “Promenade of Stolen Children” from The Handmaid’s Tale OST
Soundtrack for hit HULU series available May 5th from Lakeshore Records
May 04, 2017
On Friday, Lakeshore Records will release The Handmaid’s Tale—Original HULU Series Soundtrack, featuring the acclaimed new show’s original score by Adam Taylor. As a composer, Taylor is best known for his work on movies such as August: Osage County and Before I Fall.
We’re eager to premiere “Promenade of Stolen Children,” an atmospheric and extremely foreboding piece of music which sets the tone for this gripping adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel.
The Handmaid’s Tale takes place in Gilead, a society built in the wreckage of what used to be the United States. As disasters ravage the world and human birthrates drop to scary lows, fertile women are forced into sexual slavery to wealthy individuals in a last-ditch effort to repopulate the world. Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is one of these women, or handmaids, and she defies her orders to seek out a daughter who was taken away from her. You can read our review of the series’ pilot here.
The Handmaid’s Tale premiered on HULU on April 26th. Its soundtrack will be available from Lakeshore on May 5th.
