Euphoria Again is the genre-curious solo project of singer/songwriter and guitarist Johnny Klein. Over the past decade, Klein has used the project to explore lo-fi bedroom pop, shoegaze, and even alt country, releasing a series of albums including his 2017 self-titled record and 2021’s Lifetime. Along the way, he has also split his time as the guitarist for Philadelphia shoegaze outfit Knifeplay.

Later this year, he’s set to return with his latest album under the Euphoria Again moniker, Waiting On Time to Fly. On the record, he is joined by his Knifeplay bandmates Johanna Baumann and Max Black, crafting pastoral Americana arrangments enlaced with confessional storytelling. The full album is out on November 15th, and Klein has already shared the album’s lead single, “Sky Remembers.” Today he’s back with another new track, “White Light & Wind,” premiering with Under the Radar.

“White Light & Wind” finds Klein at his most reflective, raw, and insular. The track feels like a spacious desert folk ramble, dotted with windswept acoustic chords, swelling strings, and winding slide guitar. Klein’s vocals and guitar knit the track together, offering a contemplative centerpiece he encircles in keening melodies and echoing instrumental accents. Meanwhile, his lyrics meditate on the relationship between humankind and nature: “White light and wind / Do you carry stories of the future in your hands? / Pictures of a man / Held up as a god / Then given to the land”

Klein explains of the track, “This is a spiritual song for me, an attempt at reaching out for something greater. Many of these songs nod to darkness but also to a reaching for spirit in a way that honors the big picture of all that life holds, the good, the bad, and the ugly.”
