“Waiting,” the latest single from Gothenburg’s Jolympix, features flickering synths, rubbery tuba flourishes, and percussion that plinks as if being dotted by rainfall. In the song’s first phase, these elements seem to orbit around one another nebulously; however, as vocalist Johanna Nordström’s contemplative “What am I waiting for?” morphs into the acceptance of “There’s nothing to wait for,” the track takes on a more determined, definitive form that matches her forward-looking sentiment.

“Waiting” was taken from the band’s self-titled EP, which is set for a November 2 release. Listen to the premiere below.
