Say hello to Junior Prom, Brooklyn’s newest electro pop team. In “Episode 1” of their new video series, the band explains how they came to be.

“Erik helped me move in the night I moved to New York,” says band member Mark Solomich. “I had never met him, had no idea who he was. But we had mutual friends and he didn’t hesitate to help. Of course, I gave him the heavy stuff to carry in. We started playing music right away in a friends band, him on drums, me on bass. After a while we started making music just the two of us, on the sly, unbeknownst to our other band mates. It was like carrying on an affair behind your spouse’s back. And then one night, we got caught in the act. I want to say it was like a scene from “Cheaters”, but alas no. From that point on we just went full steam with our own thing. We couldn’t decide on a name for a year. At one point, the name ‘Dustcloud’ was mentioned. Yep, Dustcloud. Thankfully, a drunken old man suggested Junior Prom to us one night and we decided to run with it. Thanks, old timer.”
