Next month, Philadelphia indie pop duo Korine are set to share their latest full-length album, A Flame In The Dark, arriving on March 28th. Over the past few years, the band have created an artful blend of nostalgia, pure pop delights, and dark undercurrents, drawing from ‘80s synth pop, goth, and darkwave aesthetics. They first debuted with their 2018 album New Arrangements, followed by 2020’s The Night We Raise and 2023’s Tear.

Last month the band shared their latest effort’s moody lead single, “Anhedonia,” and today they’re back with another track, “In Your Eyes,” premiering with Under the Radar.

“In Your Eyes” brings the band’s swooning and dramatic pop sensibilities to the forefront. Yet, rather than feeling light and glittery, the track has a massive presence, carried by pounding keys and towering drums. Aside from a dreamy mid-song interlude, the band tumbles forward with crashing momentum, lacing their love-struck lyrics with a stirring sense of weight and drama. Sticky synth pop synths meet apocalyptic yearning and both feel heightened by the marriage of contrasts. In Korine’s hands, nocturnal longing turns anthemic.
