Premiere Listen: We Are Loud Whispers - “Western Town”
Debut Album Suchness Coming in May
Feb 20, 2013 We Are Loud Whispers
In 2007 musical artist Sonya Westcott toured Japan and met Ayumu Haitani. Though the two would not share a physical space for years, together they began assembling via email a collection of songs, which will culminate in the release of their debut album Suchness under the name We Are Loud Whispers. “I’ve been so used to getting together with band mates a few times a week in a small practice room to rehearse songs, and the way we did things was much different, obviously, since we don’t live in the same country,” says Westcott. “So we’d bounce ideas off each other over email. There’s a little bit of a language barrier as well, but any sort of ideas I had Ayumu seemed to understand and vice versa.”
If any of this sounds like The Postal Service’s familiar songwriting process and narrative, fear not, as Jimmy Tamborello actually sings on a track called “Glossolalia.” Down below you’ll find the Under the Radar premiere of the We Are Loud Whispers first single “Western Town.” Suchness arrives May 7.
