Premiere: Nick Cave & Warren Ellis – “Snow Wolf” from the Wind River OST
Lakeshore and Invada Records will release soundtrack on August 4, same day film hits theaters
Aug 01, 2017 Nick Cave
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are busy men. In the year that’s passed since the release of Skeleton Tree, Cave’s most recent record with his longstanding band, The Bad Seeds, they’ve collaborated to produce two feature-length film scores. War Machine – for which we premiered a piece of music a few months back – was the first. Their second is for the upcoming mystery film Wind River, which opens on Friday.
Written and directed by Taylor Sheridan – who penned both Hell or High Water and Sicario, both among our favorite movies in recent years – Wind River follows a newbie FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) investigating the murder of a young girl on a Native American reservation. She’s aided by a skilled game tracker (Jeremy Renner) with deep ties to the community.
We’re proud to premiere “Snow Wolf,” an ambient piece from the film’s soundtrack. The duo’s scoring work helps draw out the sense of loneliness and isolation of the film’s setting.
WIND RIVER – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be released digitally by Lakeshore and Invada Records on August 4. Vinyl and CD editions will be released at a later date.
You can watch the film’s theatrical trailer below.
