UNMAP began as a project solely intended to soundtrack Mariechen Danz’s performance art. They’ve held on to some of that artiness, but found a great pop sensibility when they moved forward as a band. “ABC (Hierarchy of the Alphabet),” the track we’re premiering below, is one of the brighter tracks from their upcoming debut, and gives a taste of the unique blend of trip-hop, electro-pop, and R&B they’ve become.

Danz explains the track:

“[The song] is about the position of the Latin alphabet in contemporary society and its limits in terms of communication and knowledge transfer.”
