Premiere: Vice Cooler Shares Glitchy New Video for “No Light”
No Light EP Out Now via VCR
Mar 07, 2019 Vice Cooler
Musician, music video director, and producer Vice Cooler has shared his new video for “No Light,” the lead single and title track off of his debut EP No Light, and we are pleased to premiere it. The video features glitched out footage from an intense live performance intercut with digitally rendered, amorphous sci-fi backdrops. The track itself is a saturated, distorted pulse that effortlessly blends noise and techno before breaking into a hypnotic coda. Check out the video below.
Vice had this to say about the video in a statement to Under the Radar: “My source material for this video includes footage which was taken by a professional photographer during a group of live shows which were organized by Penniback Records. Using this footage along with stark, sci-fi landscapes (created from a self taught crash course in Adobe After Effects), I created a video that mirrors the raw energy of how I create music and present live performance. Like the EP itself it was never planned out but rather just making the most with the resources and ideas that I have in front of me.”
No Light is Vice Cooler’s debut EP, which was tracked over the course of 30 hours using live drums for the eponymous track, while the rest was composed entirely from layers of Moog DFAM loops. Recently, Vice has been in the producer’s role on Ladytron’s newest and on the upcoming Louisahhh album.
