Seattle-based indie pop outfit Warren Dunes have shared a new song “What Are We Waiting For,” off of their debut album Welcome to Warren Dunes (due out April 19), and we are pleased to premiere it. The track is a slinking piece of Caribbean funk pop with big choruses and groovy rhythms. Check out the track and album cover below.
Julia Massey of the band had this to say about the single: “‘What Are We Waiting For’ is inspired by a friend’s difficult break up, and then evolves into capturing the universal moment you realize that there is no excuse for time wasted when it comes to making change for the better. A sense of urgency propels the song in hopes that it will inspire us all to take action. Now.”
Warren Dunes is made up of Massey, and brothers Jared and Dominic Cortese. Previously, Massey had released several solo albums, as well as played in Julia Massey and the Five Finger Discount, while the Cortese brothers played in The Jesus Rehab. Proceeds from the band’s live shows go to a variety of charitable organizations that can be seen on their website.
