Los Angeles-based folk troubadour Will Fox has shared his cosmic video for new song “Waiting,” the first single off of his forthcoming album, Which Way, which is due out July 12 via Twosyllable, and we are pleased to premiere it. The video features the singer set against time lapsed photography of nature and a serene starscape, merging with the elements. The track is a sumptuously full folk crooner that swirls a rich rhythm section with gentle Big Star inflected vocals. Check out the video and single art, as well as some upcoming tour dates, below.

On the making of the track Fox had this to say: “‘Waiting’ is a song about the often-rebellious nature of the heart, as I try to distinguish between platonic and romantic love before and after a break-up. I attempt to define these romantic rules, but am left scratching my head, and realize that there aren’t any. Although the song is about the conclusion of a relationship, it also describes just how powerful and continuous that love can be, and that’s a beautiful thing isn’t it?”

The video was mostly shot in Steele’s Tavern, Virginia on a farm where Fox’s family lives, with remaining footage being done in Elysian Park in Los Angeles. The video was directed by screenwriter Greg Dillon and features videographer Pete Herron as the director of photography and editor. Which Way is Fox’s debut album, coming after his 2018 EP Cosmic Dusting. Recorded at 64 Sound in Los Angeles, the record features Tyler Karmen as producer, with Brian Rosemeyer mixing, and mastered by Mark Chalecki.
