R.I.P. Philip Seymour Hoffman
Actor Dead at 46
Feb 02, 2014 Philip Seymour Hoffman
We were heartbroken today to hear about the passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, the actor was found dead in his New York apartment. He was 46. Currently, the cause of death is unknown. Our thoughts go out to Hoffman’s friends and family.
A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Hoffman moved from the stage into film in 1992, appearing in the film Scent of a Woman. He became a regular in Paul Thomas Anderson films appearing in Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, and The Master. Other films of note include Cold Mountain, Along Came Polly, Synecdoche, New York, and (of course) our personal favorite, Almost Famous. In 2005 Hoffman won an Academy Award for his role as Truman Capote in the film Capote.
