X-Ray Spex
Marianne Elliot-Said, aka Poly Styrene, passed away last night after battling cancer. Styrene fronted the epochal punk act X-Ray Spex, who influenced legions of bands with their classic album Germ Free Adolescents, including Bikini Kill, Nirvana, Bratmobile and countless others. She has a solo album, Generation Indigo, released today. A nice interview with Styrene regarding the album can be found here.
