RIP Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch
Passes Away at the Age of 47
May 04, 2012 Beastie Boys
Beastie Boys MC Adam Yauch, aka MCA, has reportedly passed away at the age of 47.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2009, Yauch will be remembered for being part of one of the most influential hip-hop acts of all time. Formed in 1981 with friends Michael Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horowitz (Ad-Rock), the trio’s catalog of classic albums, including their 1986 debut Liscensed to Ill, 1989’s Paul’s Boutique, and 1994’s Ill Communication seamlessly blended punk, rock, and rap into a sound that was unmistakably their own.
The Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just last month. Our thoughts go out to Yauch’s friends and family.
