London band Sorry are releasing a new album, COSPLAY, on November 7 via Domino. Now they have shared its latest single, “Today Might Be the Hit,” via a music video. Watch it below.
A press release describes “Today Might Be the Hit” in great detail: “Narratively the song marries the unfortunate life of Ludwig Boltzmann, whose entropy formula was dismissed in his lifetime and later immortalized on his gravestone, with a full-on guitar and drums number that sits squarely in the garage rock tradition.”
Sorry are Asha Lorenz, Louis O’Bryen, Lincoln Barrett, Campbell Baum, and Marco Pini. COSPLAY follows 2022’s Anywhere But Here and their debut album, 925, which made it to #35 on our Top 100 Albums of 2020 list.
COSPLAY includes two recent singles: “Jetplane” (which came out in April and was one of our Songs of the Week) and “Waxwing” (which came out in June and was also on our Songs of the Week list). When the album was announced, the band shared “Echoes,” which was also one of our Songs of the Week.
A press release describes the album like so: “COSPLAY meticulously erases and redraws the parameters that Sorry have set throughout their career. It is a world where anyone can be anyone, past or present, real or imaginary, dead or alive; it is the album that frees Sorry from their shackles.”
