Sparks Share Humorous Holiday Song, “Christmas Without a Prayer,” via Sad Lyric Video
Single to Be Released December 4
Nov 20, 2015
Sparks
Los Angeles legends Sparks have kept busy in 2015 with FFS, their collaboration with Scotland’s Franz Ferdinand that released their self-titled debut album back in June via Domino. But they’ve also found time to record a new holiday song, “Christmas Without a Prayer.” The darkly humorous song tackles gifts you don’t need (such as albums by Wings apparently) and the struggles of finding a restaurant open on Christmas Day. It comes via a sad lyric video that shows off the loneliness of Christmas shopping and the weirdness of celebrating the holidays in the palm tree dotted land that is Los Angeles. The song will be released as a single on December 4 via the band’s own Lil’ Beethoven label. And on November 27 the vinyl box set Sparks: The Island Years comes out. Check out the “Christmas Without a Prayer” lyric video below, via The Line of Best Fit (who premiered it).
